Overview
The QSBASE4 Eval Kit + QSXP-ML81 is the AI-ready evaluation platform for the Ka-Ro NXP i.MX 8M Plus System-on-Module. Pre-fitted in the QSBASE4 socket, the QSXP-ML81 brings 4× Cortex-A53 cores, a Cortex-M7 real-time core, a 2.3 TOPS Neural Processing Unit and an HiFi4 DSP — plug in USB-C and develop industrial vision, edge AI and multi-display HMI applications out of the box. When you move to production, swap the same code base onto a solder-down QSXP module without a carrier-board re-spin.
What's in the Box

QSBASE4 Baseboard Features
Why this Kit?
One Socket, Every Module
The 0.5 mm Hirose socket on QSBASE4 accepts every QS-family /SOCK module — i.MX 93, i.MX 91, STM32MP, RZ/G2L and more. Test multiple processors on the same baseboard.
Industrial Vision & Edge AI
2.3 TOPS Neural Processor, HiFi4 DSP and dual MIPI-DSI display make QSXP-ML81 a single-chip platform for AI vision, voice and HMI workloads.
Production Migration
Evaluate on this kit, then ship the same code base on the solder-down production module. No carrier-board re-spin, no software port.
Made in Germany
QSBASE4 and QS-family modules are designed and manufactured by Ka-Ro Electronics. 12-month warranty and 10+ year availability commitment.
Software & Support
Yocto-Linux BSP
Reference image based on Yocto kirkstone / scarthgap. Boots straight to a Linux console out of the box.
Mainline U-Boot + Linux Kernel
Long-term-supported sources, including Ka-Ro device-tree overlays and module-specific patches.
NPU SDK
NXP eIQ machine-learning toolkit (or vendor equivalent), NPU runtime and TensorFlow-Lite / ONNX Runtime support out of the box.
