Strategic’s TX6Q i.MX6 Quad computer-on-module now available

Possibly the World’s smallest CoM with quad-core Cortex A9 processor

Stockholm, Sweden – Strategic Embedded has announced the TX6Q computer-on-module based on Freescale's i.MX6 Quad processor that is most likely the world's smallest CoM with a quad-core Cortex A9 processor.

Strategic’s TX module family
The TX Computer-on-Modules family, which is based on Freescale i.MX multimedia and TI Sitara (TM) processors, now, with the addition of the new TX6Q, totals eight members (TX25, TX27, TX28, TX28S, TX48, TX51 , TX53).

Thanks to the family's compatibility, the TX modules offer a flexible, scalable solution from the 400MHz ARM9 TX25 right up to the quad-core TX6Q. Strategic underlines its commitment to its CoM range with a guarantee of 10 year long-term availability of the TX modules which in turn provides developers a high level of investment security.

At the heart of the TX6Q CoM is the new Freescale i.MX6 Quad processor with 1.2 GHz. The TX6Q CoM integrates 1GB DDR3 SDRAM which with its 64-bit data bus width and high data rate represents the ultimate in data throughput. Like all TX CoM modules, the TX6Q also uses the same industrial, long-term available 128MB NAND Flash.

The Freescale Longevity Program supports the Strategic product philosophy with a long-term availability of the processor of at least 10 years.

The Strategic Starter-Kit 5, which has the identical base development platform for all TX modules, enables fast time-to-market as it allows developers to focus on their application-specific adaptations.

With the new TX6Q Windows Embedded Compact 7 and Linux are available as operating systems.
