The TRITON-320 PXA320 module is a complete computer, implemented on a board smaller than a credit card and ready to be designed into your embedded system. Based on Marvell’s new more powerful and ultra- low-power operation and high processing performance PXA320 processor, the TRITON-320 comes with full software support for both Windows Embedded CE 6.0 and Linux 2.6.
Using less than 2mW in sleep mode, the TRITON-320 PXA320 module is specifically targeted at embedded applications where size, high cpu-performance and low power consumption are critical factors.

By using a SOM as the basis of a new product design, the company eliminates the most difficult development tasks and as a result speeds time-to-market and reduces development costs. The only hardware develop usually needed is a simple 4 or 6-layer carrier board (similar the carrier in the Development Kit), which is well within the skills of most companies.
The TRITON Development Kit-4 includes both Linux and Windows CE 6, with full driver support of all the peripherals on the carrier.
Unlike our competitors who use cheaper SDRAM and Flash that also consumes much more power, the TRITON-320 is equipped with ultra-low-power components including mobile 1.8V SDRAM’s and 1.8V NAND Flash. That makes the TRITON-320 the module of choice for wireless and mobile applications, where battery life is critical.
The TRITON-320 module also contains the unique programmable core power generator that allows you to vary the CPU voltage to further reduce consumption. This can be further reduced by using a combination of Wireless SpeedStep technology, sleep-mode and clock-rate selection. With these features it is possible to flexibly control the total power-consumption for any application.
The TRITON-320 is without doubt the best engineered module and has the lowest power consumption in it’s class.

The TRITON-320 PXA320 module is supplied with a DIMM200 connector to provide the designer with access to the PXA270′s signals for nearly unlimited expansion. Nearly all the processor signals are available due to different mapping possibilities. See the datasheet for full connector pin-outs.
Extended Temperature is Standard
The TRITON-270 has a temperature specification of -25 degC to +85 degC as standard and is not a cost-option.
The TRITON-320 PXA320 module is delivered with pre-installed U-Boot firmware. U-Boot supports several low-level-debugging options and file download via serial XModem. These files can additionally be stored into the permanent flash-memory to be started by command or power-on.
To use the TRITON-320, it is first necessary to purchase the Triton Development Kit-4. This includes the TRITON-320 PXA320 module already installed on the Kit carrier board with both Linux 2.6 and Windows CE 6.0 pre-installed.
Once you have connected the Development Kit to a host PC, you can start to develop your software immediately. In the meantime, the hardware engineers can use the schematics of the carrier board as a basis for your own customer carrier board design (we also provide design and manufacturing services).
